The Government of Canada has announced its $2 billion initiative, the Women Entrepreneurship Strategy (WES), that seeks to double the number of women-owned businesses by 2025. The government is also making $20 million in funding available for women entrepreneurs in conjunction with the strategy through the Women Entrepreneurship Fund (WEF).
Businesses across Canada can receive up to $100,000 to help them grow their business and reach new export markets. Stathletes, a hockey analytics company based in St. Catharines, has received $100,000 through the fund.
