City of Welland receiving more than $2 million in relief funding from upper governments

As the provincial and federal governments dole out relief funding to municipalities, Welland has learned it will receive approximately $2.16 million to cover costs caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Corporate services general manager Steve Zorbas said Thursday the local government will get $743,580 for transit and another $1.4 million to serve the city’s remaining municipal operations.
