After attending the province’s virtual Association of Municipalities Ontario (AMO) conference earlier this month, Grimsby chief administrative officer Harry Schlange said the province has reassured the West Niagara delegation that the rebuild of the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital remains on track.
“We always partner with Lincoln and West Lincoln on two major topics, one was the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital, Minister Elliot assured us that everything is moving forward as planned.”
The province will fund most of the new hospital, but local communities must fund a portion — around 30 per cent.
Grimsby’s share of the project is budgeted to be between $12-17 million.
The new hospital is expected to begin construction in a couple years, with shoved scheduled to break ground sometime in 2022.
