Katie Desharnais
Katie Desharnais is a highly accomplished professional leading strategic marketing initiatives at Niagara Region's Economic Development division. With a focus on driving economic development and fostering a prosperous region, she works to attract investment, support business growth, and strengthen Niagara’s position as a premier destination for industry and innovation.
As a lifelong resident of Niagara, Katie possesses a deep understanding of the region’s unique economic landscape. She has worked with leading organizations across key industries, including the Canadian Olympic Committee, Andrew Peller Limited, and Google.
Katie completed the Executive Leadership Program with McMaster University’s DeGroote School of Business in collaboration with Niagara Region. She was selected to contribute to a capstone project on integrating Artificial Intelligence into regional operations. She also holds a strategic marketing certificate from Cornell University, a degree from Brock University, and has completed studies in Economic Development at the University of Waterloo.
Through collaborative marketing efforts and high-impact initiatives, she is committed to strengthening Niagara’s economic future, driving investment, and creating sustainable opportunities that support businesses and communities across the region.
