Daniel Turner

As the Economic Development Officer, Trade & Investment, Daniel specializes in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) attraction to the Niagara Region. Additionally, Daniel is the coordinator of Niagara’s Foreign Trade Zone program. Daniel assists companies and suppliers that are involved in the production of products for final export to other countries. He also collaborates with businesses to find and apply for tax, duty and tariff exemptions.

As a lifelong resident of the Niagara Region, Daniel is well acquainted with Niagara’s extensive assets and competitive advantages. In his previous role as Niagara Employment Inventory (NEI) Coordinator, Daniel led the surveyor team in their mission of collecting economic data from over 10,000 businesses across the 12 local municipalities of Niagara. Prior to joining Niagara Region Economic Development, Daniel was an Economic Development Officer with the Town of Fort Erie.

Daniel’s areas of study at Brock University, McMaster University and Wilfird Laurier University include Business Economics, Political Science, Computer Science and Data Analytics. Throughout his educational journey, Daniel excelled in work placements with Statistics Canada in the National Capital Region , as well as with Mercedes-Benz Financial Services in the Greater Toronto Area.
