Daniel Turner
Daniel's primary focus on the Niagara Economic Development team is assisting businesses with site selection and connecting them with resources to help start and grow their companies in Niagara. He also supports businesses in researching and accessing grants, incentives and other funding programs, including the Niagara Gateway Economic Zone, Community Improvement Plan and a wide range of provincial and federal government programs. As a liaison between business stakeholders and the government, Daniel ensures businesses get the information and approvals they need to make informed decisions and keep their projects on time and on budget.
As a lifelong resident of the Niagara Region, Daniel is well acquainted with Niagara’s extensive assets and competitive advantages. In his previous role as Niagara Employment Inventory (NEI) Coordinator, Daniel led the surveyor team in their mission of collecting economic data from over 10,000 businesses across the 12 local municipalities of Niagara. Prior to joining Niagara Region Economic Development, Daniel was an Economic Development Officer with the Town of Fort Erie.
Daniel’s areas of study at Brock University, McMaster University and Wilfird Laurier University include Business Economics, Political Science, Computer Science and Data Analytics. Throughout his educational journey, Daniel excelled in work placements with Statistics Canada in the National Capital Region , as well as with Mercedes-Benz Financial Services in the Greater Toronto Area.
