The District School Board of Niagara has announced a $1 million dollar investment into programs that help students prepare for careers in the trades. The funding will support 50 classrooms in 17 secondary schools within the Region.
The money will go towards purchasing new tools and equipment as well as classroom updates for the 1,100 students currently enrolled in the trade courses. The investment is linked to statistics predicting that by 2021, one in five students will begin a career in trades.
