Niagara College receives over $2 million in innovation funding

Niagara College is one of the region’s best resources for businesses as it relates to research, development and innovation. And June brought a wave of funding announcements that will help bolster the services and resources that Niagara business can access.

The college has received federal funding through NSERC , including $1.75-million renewal of Technology Access Centre (TAC) funding for the Walker Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Centre (WAMIC), as well as another $149,918 in funding for equipment to support a cannabis production research unit for the Agriculture & Environmental Technologies Innovation Centre.

The college has also received $210,000 in provincial funding for the College Voucher for Technology Adoption (CVTA) program which will help 25 companies to help solve their innovation challenges related to technology adoption, in the sectors of advanced manufacturing, food and beverage, and agriculture environmental technologies.
