Cruise operators chart course for Port Colborne in 2022

Following months of floating the idea of Port Colborne as a place for cruise ships to dock, the city is seeing some progress.

Mayor Bill Steele met with senior officials from Viking River Cruises this month to discuss the cruise liner’s upcoming expansion into the Great Lakes.

“Viking Cruises is currently building an expedition ship to cruise the Great Lakes in 2022,” said Steele. “Port Colborne will be one of the ports where the ships will be stopping.”

Viking River Cruises, headquartered in Switzerland, is one of the largest cruise lines in the world, chartering ships all over Europe.
