Approximately 16% of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Canada are owned by women according to Statistics Canada. While this number is a fraction SMEs in general, growth in women-owned enterprises is strong and continues to grow.

Women in Niagara Council at the Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce is a business resource and advocate for women in Niagara. In addition to networking and events that inspire leadership and celebrate success, the council identifies issues relevant to women in Niagara and provides strategic guidance to address these challenges and opportunities.
Niagara Women’s Enterprise Centre is a charity that provides assistance, training and resources to unemployed and/or underemployed women in the Niagara Region who want to obtain employment or create a business.

The Niagara Leadership Summit for Women presents an inclusive environment to encourage and celebrate women leaders in our community and opens the conversation surrounding women’s issues in Niagara. The event is put on by the YWCA Niagara Region and Brock University.
Women in Leadership & Business Conference is a 2.5 day professional development conference for women leaders, and will be held in Niagara Falls in 2019.
