Marco Marino
Marco Marino has spent over two decades focusing his career on creating a Niagara where businesses can thrive. Marco’s professional trajectory, which includes time with the City of St. Catharines as a Business Information Officer, Small Business Consultant, Economic Development Researcher, Economic Development Officer, and the City of Thorold as Manager of Economic Development, has helped him become a true expert on the distinct needs of Niagara businesses. He has leveraged that knowledge to move several important development initiatives forward, including the Thorold Multimodal Hub.
Understanding the critical role that two-way communication plays in creating successful economic development initiatives, Marco has prioritized serving on local boards and committees throughout his career. This service includes time supporting the Niagara Industrial Association, Walker Advanced Manufacturing and Innovation Centre at Niagara College, Niagara Region’s Ten-Year Economic Development Strategy Committee, and the Sponsorship Committee for the 2022 Canada Summer Games.
In addition to a Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree in Business Communications from Brock University, Marco has earned the Certified Economic Developer (Ec.D) designation from the Economic Developers Association of Canada and his CEcD designation from the International Economic Development Council.
