Private investors have recently purchased the former Fort Erie Elementary School and Secondary School sites and are planning to open the Fort Erie International Academy this September. The $95 million project aims to create an international educational campus at the two north-end sites, with plans to have approximately 900 students by September 2020.
The academy will launch its inaugural year this September and will have approximately 120 students at the former Fort Erie Elementary School site on Central Avenue. The school is also offering 30 full-tuition scholarships to local students who reside either in Fort Erie or the Niagara Region.
