Welland has been on a strong growth trajectory, and more activity is expected in the housing market, and the job market in 2019.

2018 proved to be a record year for building activity and residential growth in Welland. Over 800 building permits representing a construction value of approximately $130,000,000 were issued over the 12 months. Contributing to the high number of building permits, construction of housing units within the municipality doubled from the previous year with 400 built in 2018.

Projections indicate a jump in the coming years in population size within Welland and surrounding area.
