The Initiative to Make the Niagara Region a Global Geopark has begun

Making the Niagara Region a UNESCO Global Geopark was once considered a dream. However, after presenting a policy brief to a room full of region stakeholders, the Niagara Community Observatory is one step closer to making the dream a reality.

A Global Geopark designation would bring in tourists from around the world looking to visit over 70 attractions spread across the entire Niagara Region. Currently only two Global Geoparks exist in Canada.
