Marcus Giancola

Marcus Giancola is a marketing, communications, and public relations professional with experience supporting strategic campaigns, public relations, digital content, and investment attraction initiatives across Niagara. As Marketing Project Coordinator, Marcus contributes to Niagara Economic Development’s marketing, communications, and investment attraction efforts through the planning, coordination, and execution of strategic campaigns and initiatives. His work includes executing marketing campaigns, managing social media and web content, developing high-quality marketing collateral, and contributing to events and delegations that promote Niagara as a competitive destination for business growth, foreign direct investment, and economic opportunity.

Growing up in Niagara has given Marcus a strong understanding of the region’s assets, opportunities, and evolving identity. His established connection to the community allows him to bring a local perspective to projects that support business growth, investment attraction, and economic development across Niagara.

Before rejoining the Niagara Economic Development team, Marcus developed a strong foundation in marketing, communications, and public relations through several industry roles. He previously served as a Public Relations Associate at Fallsview Group, where he contributed to media relations, influencer marketing, hospitality communications, and brand visibility initiatives for Niagara-based hotels, restaurants, and tourism properties. He also worked as a Multi Media Development Intern with Niagara Region’s Partnerships and Communication Division, supporting resident-facing communications, digital content, campaign materials, and corporate initiatives. Marcus also gained experience as a Marketing Intern with Niagara Economic Development, where he contributed to marketing initiatives, stakeholder coordination, investment attraction materials, and sector-focused projects. His experience with Giant Shoe Creative Agency and the Learning Disabilities Association of Niagara Region further strengthened his skills in creative marketing, community engagement, and strategic communications.

Marcus holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Communication with a Minor in Digital Culture from Brock University and a Graduate Certificate in Public Relations from Niagara College. Through his academic and industry experience, he has developed both theoretical and practical knowledge in communications, marketing, public relations, and digital media. He was also recognized with the Student Award of Excellence from the Canadian Public Relations Society, the Associate Dean’s Award of Excellence from Niagara College, and the Distinguished Graduating Student Award from Brock University.

Marcus applies this combined experience to advance Niagara Economic Development’s marketing and investment attraction priorities, helping strengthen the region’s profile, support business growth, and promote Niagara as a competitive place to invest, inspire, and grow.
