Katie Wiens is a recognized leader in strategic marketing and economic development, currently advancing Niagara Region’s global competitiveness through high-impact initiatives that attract investment, support business growth, and position Niagara as a premier destination for innovation and industry.

As a lifelong resident of Niagara, Katie brings a strong, community-rooted perspective on the region’s economic potential. Her work reflects a deep connection to the area and a commitment to building long-term economic strength. She has led global marketing initiatives with nationally and internationally respected organizations including the Canadian Olympic Committee, Andrew Peller Limited, and Google, developing strategies that elevate brand presence and drive international engagement.

Katie is a graduate of McMaster University’s Executive Leadership Program through the DeGroote School of Business, where she was selected to lead a capstone project focused on integrating artificial intelligence into regional operations. She also holds a certificate in Strategic Marketing from Cornell University, a degree from Brock University, and has completed advanced studies in Economic Development at the University of Waterloo.

Katie’s work positions Niagara on the global stage through strategic storytelling that engages international investors, industry leaders, and key decision-makers.
