New industrial park to serve Welland’s future needs

Welland will spend nearly $1 million to upgrade Downs Road and create and service four lots in its new 13-hectare industrial park if council agrees to a staff recommendation Tuesday night.

The industrial park — between River and Downs roads — was created in March of this year to ensure the city has an inventory of serviced industrial land, said a report from Welland’s chief administrative officer Gary Long.
