Major stimulus for Niagara steel production

New era of growth for steel industry heralded by Welland plant acquisition

AMPCO-Pittsburgh announced the sale of its subsidiary ASW Steel in Welland to Valbruna Canada Ltd., a subsidiary of Acciaierie Valbruna S.p.A of Italy. ASW Steel will now be called Valbruna ASW.

Tim Clutterbuck, president of Valbruna ASW said that the sale of the plant is great push for the steel industry in Niagara and is an encouraging sign of growth and prosperity.
