Federal government announces $475,000 towards tender fruit and fresh grapes research

The Ministry of Agriculture and Agri-food has announced an investment of up to $476,908 for the Ontario Tender Fruit Growers and Fresh Grape Growers to help improve fruit quality and availability of tender fruit and grape varieties, as well as extend the growing season and storability of various tender fruits and grapes.

The initiative is funded through the Canadian Agriculture Partnership’s AgriScience Program, which intends to fund and support cutting-edge research to accelerate the pace of innovation in the sector. Research for this project will be collaboratively done by the University of Guelph and Vineland Research and Innovation Centre.
