Federal Committee Calls for an Increase Seaway Traffic and Welland Canal Development

The Federal Committee on transport, infrastructure and communities has recommended an increase in St. Lawrence Seaway use, along with further utilizing the Welland Canal corridor lands for new economic development opportunities.

The recommendation comes at a time when the Niagara Region and City of Hamilton have been increasingly recognized as a strategic location by the Canadian government.
